Jose Mourinho's comments about Manchester United ace Cristiano Ronaldo have been proved wrong this transfer window. Before United's pre-season tour of Thailand and Australia, Ronaldo made it clear to the Reds that he would wish to make a move away from Old Trafford should a 'reasonable bid' be submitted for his services.

A couple of days later, the 37-year-old did not return to pre-season training due to 'family reasons'. Ronaldo would go on to miss the tour and only returned to Carrington this week for crunch talks with Erik ten Hag.

It would appear that the Portuguese ace will be staying at Old Trafford due to a lack of interest in his services. ALSO READ: Ronaldo hits back at meeting reports Bayern Munich, Atletico Madrid and Chelsea were all rumoured to be interested but no offer was ever submitted.

Now it would seem that Mourinho's comments about Ronaldo are not correct. Back when he was United manager, rumours surfaced that Ronaldo could be on the verge of a return to the Theatre of Dreams.
