Johnny Gargano has revealed that there plans for him to appear at WrestleMania 35 before they were scrapped due to Ciampa’s injury.

Gargano was a shock call-up to Monday Night Raw in February 2019, alongside Tomasso Ciampa and Ricochet as fresh call-ups from NXT.

On the show Gargano teamed with Ciampa, despite the pair being embroiled on a heated rivalry on NXT. The duo bested The Revival before going over to SmackDown and downing The Bar on their blue brand debut.

Speaking to Inside the Ropes during Starrcast V, Gargano says the story was meant to continue and he and Ciampa were at one point set to be in a tag team match at WrestleMania.
