John Hughes is one of the names Motherwell are seriously considering to replace Stevie Hammell, according to a report. The Fir Park side are on the lookout for their next permanent boss after Hammell was dismissed following their Scottish Cup exit against Raith.
Youth coach Stuart Kettlewell has been charged with stopping the rot in the meantime as the board consider their options and the former Ross County boss will be hoping to use it as an audition to land the job himself.
Former 'Well midfielder Paul Lambert ruled himself out of taking the job but former Aberdeen boss Jim Goodwin is an option while it's reported Dunfermline manager James McPake is another they are looking at closely.
Hughes, who has been out of work since leaving the Pars after their relegation to League One, has consistently been up there in the betting and the BBC now report he is "under consideration" for the job.
