Jim Goodwin in Ryan Porteous 'cheat' comments swerve as Aberdeen boss holds silence on SFA charge

Aberdeen boss Jim Goodwin has refused to address the SFA charge over comments made on Hibs defender Ryan Porteous. The Dons lost their Scottish Premiership clash with the Easter Road men before the international break, when Aberdeen's Liam Scales was sent off following a tussle with Porteous which led to a penalty just before the half-time.

Fuming Goodwin unleashed on the Scotland cap at the full-time whistle, branding the actions from the 23-year-old as “blatant cheating” which led to the SFA intervening.

Goodwin has been charged under rules 73 and 77 of the SFA constitution which covers offensive statements and says all players and staff must act in the best interests of the game.

A hearing date has been set for October 6. However, he wasn't willing to give much away as the Dons prepare to get back to league action against Kilmarnock on Saturday.
