Jayden Bogle fitness update as Sheffield United hope to avoid major issue with George Baldock

Paul Heckingbottom is hoping for positive news on the injury front regarding George Baldock. The 29-year-old came off in the second half of yesterday's 3-0 defeat to Mansfield Town after picking up a knock.

With the fixture only being a friendly in pre-season, there was no need to take a risk and Baldock was withdrawn. He'll know more about his injury this week but will have everything crossed it's nothing major. "George's [injury] was from a tackle," Heckingbottom said last night. "We're not taking risks with any player at the minute.

We're not doing anything silly." If Baldock's injury is anything other than a knock, it would leave United with a major issue.

Heckingbottom is already without his only other recognised right wing-back, Jayden Bogle, until well into the season. The 21-year-old was impressing as first choice in that position and become a big threat down that side.
