Stand-in skipper Shikhar Dhawan will again look to make a statement as the Indian team, made up of fringe players, take on the West Indies in the second ODI here on Sunday.

Having won the first game by three runs, another victory will give India a successive ODI series win in the Caribbean. Be it Dhawan and comeback man Shubman Gill's aggressive opening stand, or Mohammad Siraj's emergence as the leader of the bowling attack in the absence of the experienced Mohammed Shami and Jasprit Bumrah, India ticked all the boxes on Friday to go 1-0 up in the three-match series.

First up, it was about Gill as the highly-rated opener, returning to the ODI fold after more than 19 months, seized the opportunity with both hands with a career-best 64.

Picked ahead of Ruturaj Gaikwad and Ishan Kishan, Gill made batting look easy when most of them struggled after the ball got softer at the Queen's Park Oval.

IND vs WI, 2nd T20I Live Updates: India face the West Indies in the second T20I of the five-match series at the Warner Park in Basseterre. The start of the match has been delayed further by an hour and will begin at 11 PM IST. The match was initially scheduled to start at 8 PM IST. India lead the series after winning the first T20I by 68 runs in Tarouba last Friday. Rohit Sharma and Dinesh Karthik laid the foundation with a strong total before the bowlers steamrolled the West Indian batting line-up. The venue for the second T20I, the Warner Park, has historically been a pacer-friendly track, and teams find it difficult to score big total. West Indies will be boosted by the returns of Brandon King and Romario Shepherd, who had missed the first T20Is due to US visa appointments. (LIVE SCORECARD)
Right-handed batter Shubman Gill was at his best in the three-match ODI series against West Indies, scoring 205 runs, including an unbeaten 98 in the third and final ODI. For his performances, he was awarded the Player of the Series accolade. The third ODI was first curtailed to 40-overs-per-side, and then it was brought down to 35 overs due to rain, and hence Gill did not get a chance to complete his 100. After the 3-0 series win, India captain Shikhar Dhawan praised Gill, saying he has a bit of Rohit Sharma's touch in him.
