India defeated Australia by six wickets in the second Test to take an unassailable 2-0 lead in the four-match series in another three-day finish here on Sunday.

Set a target of 115 after Australia were bowled out for 113 in their second innings, India completed the chase in 26.4 overs on the third day of the match.

India were 14 for 1 at lunch. Earlier in the day, Ravindra Jadeja returned with brilliant figures of 7/42 in 12.1 overs while his spin colleague Ravichandran Ashwin took three Australian wickets.

Travis Head top-scored for Australia with 43 off 46 balls even as the others paid the price for some atrocious shot selection on a slow Kotla track.

The public fallout between Indian cricket team all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja and ex-cricket Sanjay Manjrekar is no secret. Following the ICC World Cup 2019, Manjrekar called Jadeja “bit and pieces” cricketer which prompted a reply from the all-rounder. While both cricketers have put the incident behind them, fans have not stopped bringing it up both in person and on social media. One such incident took place during the third Test match between India and Australia as a fan in Indore teased Manjrekar while he was talking to Matthew Hayden near the boundary line. In a video released on social media, the fan could be heard shouting Jadeja's name at Manjrekar who looked at him angrily.
With Australia needing just 76 on the third day of the third Test against India in the Border-Gavaskar Trophy, the hosts needed and early breakthrough. Veteran spinner Ravichandran Ashwin provided just that on the second ball of the day as he got Usman Khawaja. Ashwin bowled a fuller delivery close to the off stump. Khawaja, who came forward to defend, got a faint outside edge. The Indians appealed in unison and the umpire gave out. Though Khawaja went for the review the decision was unchanged as there was a spike on UltraEdge.

Left-arm spinner Matthew Kuhnemann was the star of the show as Australia rolled over India for a paltry total of 109 on Day 1 of the ongoing first Test in Indore. The Queenslander bagged his maiden five-wicket haul as Australia managed to take a 47-run lead on the opening day at the Holkar Stadium. The 26-year-old later revealed that he had closely observed how Jadeja approaches his bowling on rank turners, which massively helped his case on Day 1 in Indore.

Ravichandran Ashwin should be "right up there" among India's all-time greats and his spin twin Ravindra Jadeja also isn'tfar behind, feels former India head coach Ravi Shastri. Ashwin and Jadeja has emerged as one of the deadliest duo in world cricket as they have picked a staggering 462 wickets between them in the 45 Tests that they have played together. The duo collected 16 wickets in the Delhi Test to add to their 15 in the first Test at Nagpur as India took a 2-0 lead in the four-Test series.
