The Indian cricket team made history by completing a 3-0 whitewash in the three-match series against Afghanistan after a hard-fought victory in the third encounter in Bengaluru on Wednesday.

The match needed two Super Overs to finally end in India's favour with Rohit Sharma, Rinku Singh and Ravi Bishnoi emerging as the top performers.

With this series win, India now have 9 whitewash series wins in T20I cricket - the most by any country in the shortest format of the sport.

India were tied at 8 with Pakistan but the victory on Wednesday means that the Rohit Sharma-led side claimed the sensational T20I feat.

Kohli's one-handed leap to deny Afghanistan a six during the intense run-chase was one of the highlights of the match. While speaking in the dressing room after the match, Dilip revealed how Kohli refused to stand in slips, and instead wanted to challenge the youngsters by fielding in "hotspots".
Rinku Singh has certainly left no stone unturned to cement his place into the T20I team of India. Across 15 games and 11 innings in T20Is, Rinku has scored 356 runs at an average of 89 and a strike rate of over 176 with two half-centuries. He has been making a name for himself as a finisher for the national team. While praising the batter for his heroics against Afghanistan in the third T20I match, another India star Ravichandran Ashwin said that Rinku is a left-handed MS Dhoni.
Afghanistan's hopes of salvaging their pride were dashed on Wednesday following a crushing loss in the third and final T20I against India in Bengaluru. Having already conceded the series, the visitors tested India to the limit by forcing not one, but two Super Overs under the light. After scores were level twice at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium, Afghanistan needed 12 runs in the second Super Over. However, the visitors lost two wickets in as many balls as India sneaked in a famous win.
