Ian Harkes in Dundee United waiting game as Jack Ross faces crucial Tannadice contract talks

dailyrecord.co.uk

Jack Ross is hoping to persuade Ian Harkes to sign up for his Dundee United revolution this week as doubts remain over his contract status.

The midfielder’s current deal has expired and he is still back home in the United States and the bulk of United’s first team has returned for pre-season under new boss Ross.

Harkes is out of contract but is set to fly into Scotland for talks with the new Tannadice boss. The 27-year-old has been linked with English league sides Cardiff City and Morecambe, while Honved head coach Tam Courts is also a big fan from their time together at Tannadice.

Harkes has been a big player since his move from DC United a couple of seasons ago and the American is keen to hear Ross’ views on the club having impressed under Tam Courts last season.
