Leeds United have always wanted to strengthen at left-back this summer and have previously targeted Anderlecht youngster Sergio Gomez, according to transfer insider Dean Jones. Jesse Marsch has overseen a hectic few months of business at Elland Road but will be looking to add to his squad ahead of the September 1 deadline.

Gomez has been targeted by Manchester City this summer as a potential replacement for Oleksandr Zinchenko in the squad, according to MailOnline.

The outlet claims that an £11 million deal is proceeding although there remains a possibility that the reigning Premier League champions will loan him out again soon after.

However, Sky Sports report that the loan will likely see him move to a different City Group club. Earlier this summer, it was reported by Leeds Live that Gomez had been targeted at the end of last season and may move for him again with Junior Firpo side-lined through injury.
