Afghanistan cricket team fast bowler Naveen-ul-Haq took to social media to take a dig at Australia before the two teams face each other in Cricket World Cup 2023 on November 7.

In a post made on Instagram, Naveen referred to the time in 2021 when Australia refused to travel to Afghanistan for a Test match due to political tensions.

The Taliban seized control in August 2021 and as a result, Australia decided to cancel their travel plans. Naveen said that it will be interesting to see what Australia decides now considering the political situation in Afghanistan has not changed since then. “Refusing to play the bilateral series, now it will be interesting to see cricket Australia stand in the World Cup #standards #humanrights or 2 points,” Naveen posted on Instagram.

Meanwhile, spinner Adam Zampa starred with bat and ball as Australia knocked defending champions England out of the Cricket World Cup 2023 with a 33-run win on Saturday.

During the seventh over of the Australian innings, a slower delivery from Jasprit Bumrah crashed into Smith's pads and the entire India team went up in appeal. The umpire gave him out and although Smith was a bit interested, he was advised by Travis Head to not go for a review. However, replays showed that the impact of the ball was outside the off-stump and the decision would have been reversed.
Indian pacer Mohammed Shami ended the ICC Cricket World Cup 2023 in India as the leading wicket-taker of the tournament. Shami, who had missed out on the first half of the tournament, made an entry in India's fifth league stage match against New Zealand and made an impact that a lot of bowlers have not made in their entire World Cup careers. In seven matches, Shami took 24 wickets at an average of 10.70 and a strike rate of 12.20, with the best figures of 7/57.
