Hull fell to 20th place in the Championship table with a 3-0 defeat to Swansea on Saturday – and if they keep defending as they did against the Welsh side, they’ll soon find themselves deep in a relegation scrap. Having done well to emerge unscathed from the first hour of the contest – during which Swansea hit the woodwork on three occasions – Hull’s defence completely fell apart in the final 30 minutes of the match.
The Tigers’ luck finally ran out when Ryan Manning gave the hosts the lead on 61 minutes. Swansea would double their advantage three minutes later after some of the most calamitous defending ever seen in the Championship.
The comedy of errors began when Swansea’s Jay Fulton lost his footing just inside the penalty area while bearing down on goal.
The ball broke loose after Fulton hit the deck, something that should have allowed the visitors to make a regulation clearance.
