Erik ten Hag has labelled Lisandro Martinez as a 'warrior' as he told Manchester United fans what they can expect from the newest signing.

After a frustratingly slow start, United's summer transfer window is now truly up and running following the arrivals of Tyrell Malacia, Christian Eriksen and now Martinez, for whom the club has agreed a £46.8million, rising to £55.3m, deal with Ajax.

Though the transfer remains subject to medical, visa and agreement of personal terms, the versatile defender is expected to put pen to paper on a five-year contract with the option of a further 12 months.

Ten Hag was keen on reinforcing his defensive options and after his initial target, Jurrien Timber, opted to stay at Ajax, attention turned to his teammate Martinez.
