Hardik Pandya 2.0: All-rounder emerges as India's most valuable player in T20Is

Hardik has often been criticised for not having played a role of an all-rounder when the team needed him the most. But since he made his comeback from injury to the national side in June this year, bowling again at full tilt, Hardik has emerged as a serious match-winner with both bat and ball ahead of the T20 World Cup in Australia.

For many, he is the most valuable player in the Indian team currently. AP PhotoThe 28-year-old flamboyant cricketer seems much more relaxed and subdued now.

He lets the bat and ball do the talking and continues to silence his critics with his performances. Hardik the batter's ability to take the bowlers to the cleaners is no secret but his resurgence as bowler seems to have fixed the problem for India of having a pace bowling all-rounder.

His inclusion adds a lot of balance to the team, giving Rohit Sharma that crucial extra seamer option - something that Pakistan didn't have in their match vs India on Sunday.

The Indian cricket squad for the T20 Word Cup has already been announced. Hardik Pandya holds a special place in the 15-member squad as he is the top all-rounder in the side. Pandya has shown maturity with the bat and has been bowling fast too. Former Indian cricket team head coach Ravi Shastri, in his own inimitable style, reiterated once again that Pandya is the no. 1 allrounder in the T20I format. "I have already tweeted and posted on Instagram that he is the No. 1 all-rounder in this format of the game. What else do you need? I had said it two weeks back. What else is there to add or subtract? XYZ can say whatever they want... everyone is entitled to his opinion. My view is clear, which is what I tweeted a couple of weeks ago," Shastri told Sports Tak.
Former Pakistan leg-spinner Danish Kaneria feels that BCCI made Sanju Samson the captain of India A team for its unofficial ODI series against New Zealand due to the pressure built over them for not selecting the player for the upcoming T20 World Cup. It is worth noting that wicketkeepers Rishabh Pant and Dinesh Karthik got a nod ahead of Samson in the 15-member Indian squad, while the 27-year-old youngster even failed to get a spot in the reserves. He will now be leading India A against New Zealand in a three-match series.
Premier League clubs smashed all previous records during the 2022 summer transfer window, splashing out a huge £1.9 billion on new signings.
Rishabh Pant has been chosen as one of the two wicketkeepers in India's 15-member squad for the 2022 T20 World Cup, along with Dinesh Karthik. However, the young left-hand batter's T20 form has not been great of late. In the recently concluded Asia Cup, his scores read 14, 17 and 20*. He has a career strike-rate of 126.21 and average of 23.94 in 58 T20Is. His below-par recent T20 form has led many experts to back Dinesh Karthik in the XI. Former Pakistan cricket team captain Salman Butt had an interesting take on Pant's regular failures in T20Is.
Indian veteran wicketkeeper-batter Dinesh Karthik on Wednesday thanked his Indian Premier League (IPL) franchise Royal Challengers Bangalore for helping him realise his dream of being included in the ICC T20 World Cup 2022. "Thanks @RCBTweets for bein an integral part of the journey and helping me achieve my dream Most importantly to all the RCB fans who chant RCB, RCB even when am in my blues representing team INDIA, I LOVE YOU GUYS.
