For most people winning a senior All-Ireland title would be at the top of their sporting achievement list, but Hannah Tyrrell is a bit different.The Na Fianna woman put in a player of the match performance yesterday as the Dubs claimed All-Ireland title number six with a five-point win over Kerry at Croke Park.It gave her a first ever senior All-Ireland medal but she has achieved greatness in other codes as well.
Tyrrell won a Six Nations title with Ireland back in 2015, as well as playing in the Women's Rugby World Cup.Before that she also won an FAI Cup with St Catherine's back in 2011.Speaking on RTÉ's Sunday Game however the 33-year-old was clear which medal means the most to her."This is definitely at the top of my list," she said, without hesitation."It's pretty common knowledge that this is something I've been chasing for a very long time.
Gaelic football has always been the sport I'm drawn towards."My dream was to get back into a Dublin jersey and get an All-Ireland and the team pulled us over the line today."At the other end of the scale, Sinéad Aherne was one of the survivor of Dublin's first All-Ireland in 2010 to get game time yesterday.It's an incredible achievement for the St Sylvester's clubwoman to have been involved in all six triumphs since."I'm at the end of my career and to see a new Dublin team come in this year, and what they've done over the year has been incredible to see," she said on the same programme."The different groups that stepped up.
