Former Rangers coach Dave Vos has landed on his feet after leaving with a return to Ajax. The Dutchman joined Giovanni van Bornckhorst’s coaching team when the former Arsenal and Barcelona man came back to Glasgow to answer the Ibrox call following Steven Gerrard’s departure to Aston Villa, along with current boss Michael Beale in November 2021.

Vos arrived with good pedigree. Formerly a banker, the 39-year-old coached youngsters at AZ Alkmaar before rising through the age groups before Ajax head hunted him in 2009.

Over the next decade, he did just about every job in the Dutch giants’ academy eventually taking charge of the club’s Under 18 side, replacing former Everton star Steven Pienaar.

He worked closely with van Bronckhorst during his time in Govan, and helped deliver a first Scottish Cup triumph since 2009 as the Light Blues beat Hearts 2-0 after extra-time in the 2022 final at Hampden.
