Former Rangers and Motherwell winger Jake Hastie set to sign for Hamilton Accies

Hamilton Accies are set to complete the signing of former Rangers winger Jake Hastie from Hartlepool United, Lanarkshire Live Sport can reveal.

The ex-Motherwell man was training with the League One side today and Accies are confident of securing the player on a short-term loan from Hartlepool in the next 24 hours. Lanarkshire Live Sport understands Accies are hoping to seal a loan deal until the end of the season, with a view to tying him down on a permanent contract at the end of the campaign.

He will become boss John Rankin's third signing of the window following the arrival of midfielder Ben Williamson from Rangers on an 18-month deal and the loan capture of Hearts kid Makenzie Kirk.

Hastie was a promising talent out of Motherwell's youth academy and signed a four-year contract with Rangers in 2019, but he never got a look in under then boss Steven Gerrard.
