Manager Neil Cugley declared he is delighted with Folkestone’s start to the season after their win over Kent rivals Herne Bay on Monday in Isthmian Premier.

Invicta earned back-to-back victories over the Bank Holiday weekend as they came from behind to beat Billericay 3-2 on Saturday before goals from Kadell Daniel and Ade Yusuff ensured they beat Ben Smith’s side two days later at Cheriton Road.

Invicta boss Cugley, whose team are third and unbeaten after five league fixtures, said: “We have got to be delighted with our start to the season. “I think you have got to give a lot of credit to Herne Bay, they chucked everything at us, second half.

Their goal, Bailey [Vose] is disappointed that he hasn’t saved it but he has done well so far. It’s just one of those things - the joys of being a goalie, isn’t it? “That just got them back in the game but, apart from that, I couldn’t really see where they were going to get a goal.
