Everton are ‘in talks’ to sign out-of-favour Chelsea striker Michy Batshuayi on a permanent deal this summer, according to football.london journalist Bobby Vincent. The 28-year-old attacker has entered the final 12 months of his contract at Stamford Bridge, and he does not appear to be a part of Thomas Tuchel’s plans going forward.

The Belgium international joined the west London outfit in 2016 for £33m, arriving at the club with high expectations. However, he has spent the majority of his Chelsea career on loan at various teams across Europe, having made just 77 appearances for the Blues during his six-year tenure.

Vincent, who is football.london’s Chelsea correspondent, has shared news of Batshuayi’s future under Tuchel. Taking to Twitter, the reliable journalist claimed: “Michy Batshuayi in talks with Everton. #EFC want a permanent deal and Chelsea are willing to do business if the price is right. #CFC” Everton manager Frank Lampard is familiar with the Belgian forward, who he knows during his time in charge of Chelsea.

During the 2019/20 season, the current Toffees boss handed Batshuayi 24 appearances for the Blues, with the striker netting six goals during this period.
