Erik ten Hag has endured a difficult start to life as Manchester United manager, with Saturday's 4-0 loss to Brentford leaving his side bottom of the table after two losses.

The former Ajax manager joined the club this summer and has already had to deal with the problems surrounding the future of Cristiano Ronaldo and now the poor start to the season will only make his job more difficult.

The nightmare start is something which Ten Hag predicted during his time at Ajax, saying that his methods took time to bear fruit.

The Dutchman won three Eredivisie titles during his time in Amsterdam as well as being the architect of a stunning Champions League run to the semi-finals in 2019.
