Erik ten Hag might have told Manchester United fans his verdict on John Murtough's transfer business
It has been over a month since Manchester United's relatively new CEO Richard Arnold sat down with supporters to chat about the direction of the club. "Do you want me buying the players?
Does that not ring a bell," Arnold said in the viral footage. Arnold was obviously talking about his predecessor Ed Woodward, who was hands-on with the football business of the club, despite coming from a background in finance.
Woodward was grossly underqualified for such a role and Arnold was trying to separate himself from his extensive catalogue of mistakes.
Arnold was taking the pressure away from himself and placing it on John Murtough. Murtough was appointed as the club's inaugural director of football last year and he's now responsible for first-team transfer business.
