Emergency services rush to scene after woman found dead in home

A woman was found dead at a home in Ashton-under-Lyne. Police were called to reports of a sudden death at home in Oldham Road at around 10am on Sunday (28 August).

Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue and North West Ambulance Service were called to help but the woman was sadly pronounced dead at the scene.

Police believe there are no suspicious circumstances surrounding her death and investigations to identify the woman are ongoing.

A spokesperson for GMP said: "At around 10am on Sunday 28 August 2022, officers were called to reports of a sudden death at an address on OIdham Road, Ashton. "NWAS and GMFS attended alongside police officers to assist at the scene.
