Dutch GP: Sebastian Vettel unsure how Zandvoort will suit Aston Martin

Sebastian Vettel says that the Aston Martin car may struggle around Zandvoort this weekend at the Dutch Grand Prix.

The German driver scored four points last time out at Spa-Francorchamps with a fine drive on Sunday in the Aston but it sounds as though it’s going to need an even more impressive performance, or a decent-sized chunk of luck, to repeat that result this weekend.

Indeed, the tight and twisty nature of the Zandvoort circuit doesn’t appear to be one that would suit the Aston going into the weekend and so it might be a tough few days for the team, though Seb believes they can learn from what they saw at a similar-in-profile circuit in the Hungaroring and still potentially capitalise.

Speaking ahead of the Dutch GP weekend, the four-time world champion had this to say: “The old-school nature of Zandvoort is so great, and it is such a fantastic driving challenge, particularly the first half of the track. “I am curious to see how our car will perform here – on paper, it might be a difficult weekend for us, but we were able to race well in Hungary just before the summer break, and the circuits are quite similar. “The 2022 cars can be raced better than last year’s cars, so we will see if we can make some moves in the race.”
