Dessers resolve tested, Matondo price tag and Cantwell interest intensifies - Rangers transfer clearout state of play

Cagliari are reportedly preparing to test Rangers' resolve to keep Cyriel Dessers this summer. The Nigeria international has come in for heavy flak throughout his Ibrox tenure - despite netting 22 goals in all competitions last season and finding the net twice so far this campaign.

As it stands for the Light Blues, the 29-year-old is Philippe Clement's go-to striking option with Danilo and Hamza Igamane ramping up their fitness behind the scenes at Auchenhowie - but that has reportedly not deterred the Serie A side as they look to replace outgoing striker Gianluca Lapadula.

Tutto Mercato Web claim that Cagliari will "accelerate" their pursuit of Dessers having been "impressed by his form recently.

However, it is noted that it is still "unclear whether Rangers would be willing to part" with the Nigeria international at this stage of the window.
