Coronation Street fans 'not ready' as they prepare for another emotional exit and have 'realisation'
Coronation Street fans have been given a taste of the emotional scenes to come and they're 'not ready'. Viewers of the ITV soap tuned in to the latest episodes on Wednesday night (December 20) to see Peter Barlow hiding something from Carla Connor.
After being caught dusting and polishing their flat when she returned for a file she'd forgotten amid doing everything she can to save Underworld, Carla asked her husband how concerned she should be.
Peter eventually admitted that he was tidying up for a visitor. He revealed that he had set up a meeting with his liver donor's mum in the hopes of "reinforcing his sobriety" as he has struggled with the guilt over his involvement in the death of serial killer Stephen Reid. Peter admitted he was an alcoholic and that people think he 'doesn't deserve a second chance' but Val showed her support. However, the scenes left Corrie fans thinking about what's to come over the festive season as it's been revealed that Peter will leave the cobbles on Boxing Day, 23 years after Chris Gascoyne took on the role of Ken Barlow's son.
