Red Bull team principal Christian Horner has said that he expects Mercedes to be strong at the French Grand Prix in a couple of weeks, with them looking better at Silverstone.
The Silver Arrows genuinely looked like race-win contenders at the British Grand Prix, with Lewis Hamilton mixing it with the Ferraris for much of the 52-lap race and also giving them a scare around the pit-stops thanks to his race pace.
Indeed, it seemed as though the team from Brackley were enjoying one of their strongest weekends of the season and it was perhaps no surprise that that came on a Silverstone surface that is nice and smooth compared to Baku and Monaco, which allowed them to run the W13 really low.
Naturally, it’s going to be something to watch with the car this weekend in Austria and then in France and Hungary before the summer break, and Horner believes it’ll be at Circuit Paul Ricard we see the Mercs going well again: “I think [when] we go to this type of track, it’s always going to play to their strengths.
