Chris Sutton could be set for an awkward face to face with Rangers boss Michael Beale after the Celtic legend claimed he will take on a new matchday role which will involve interviewing both managers before and after Sunday’s Viaplay Cup final.
The Record Sport columnist is a regular pundit for the broadcaster, as he was for Premier Sports before they were bought over by the Scandinavian media giants, and will be on duty at Hampden on Sunday for the mouthwatering League Cup final between the fierce Old Firm rivals.
And Sutton took to social media to say “looking forward to my new reporting role and pre and post match interview with both managers” while pointing to a Viaplay Sports advert for the big match at the National Stadium.
Sutton’s tweet comes at a time when he has had a war of words with Ibrox gaffer Beale. The 49-year-old questioned whether the Rangers boss wold have allowed the opposition to score a goal unopposed as he did with Partick Thistle if there was more at stake in a game such as a derby.
