Chris Sutton has been given the green light to join the punditry team for the Viaplay Cup Final amid his ongoing spat with Michael Beale. Record Sport columnist Sutton sparked the boss' fury with his TV comments which questioned whether he would order his team to give Celtic a goal back if a similar situation to Malik Tillman's controversial goal against Partick Thistle arises.

A bemused Beale, who refused to name the Parhead hero, branded him a "comedy act" and the "worst ever player" to run out for his boyhood club Chelsea.

Sutton has since told the Rangers boss he is "thin-skinned" on BT Sport's Scottish Football Extra and tweeted a claiming he is set for a TV role interviewing both bosses ahead of the Viaplay Cup Final this Sunday.

But while that proved to be a wind-up, he is set to join the punditry team alongside his sparring partner Ally McCoist and a host of familiar punditry names from Rangers, Celtic and beyond.
