Joe Hart didn’t exactly cover himself in glory during Celtic’s trip to RB Leipzig on Wednesday. Reinvigorated since moving to Glasgow on the back of a few years in the footballing wilderness, the former England number one has, on the whole, thrived in the green and white hoops.
However, just days after facing accusations of faking an injury at Celtic Park, Hart made a critical error that cost the Scottish club dearly in their latest Champions League clash.
The trip to Germany to face one of the Bundesliga’s strongest clubs was always going to be a tough one for Scotland’s reigning champions, but they did indeed enter the final 30 minutes of the game at 1-1.
While the potentially Chelsea-bound Christopher Nkunku might have opened the scoring in the first-half, Jota levelled the scores just after the break to offer a glimmer of hope for Celtic.
