Celtic have been ‘keeping tabs’ on Antoine Semenyo for a prolonged period of time and they remain interested in luring the Bristol City striker to Parkhead, according to journalist Pete O’Rourke. The Bhoys are looking to build on a season where they won the Scottish Premiership and Scottish League Cup, so boss Ange Postecoglou is eager to add Semenyo to his squad.
Bristol City boss Nigel Pearson has revealed that Semenyo is unlikely to feature until September after sustaining an injury, but that has not deterred his suitors.
It is understood that the Championship side have already turned down a £9million offer from an unnamed club since the transfer window reopened last month.
Bristol City slapped a £20million price tag on Semenyo after Nottingham Forest failed with a bid in January, but Celtic are still among the frontman’s admirers.
