An elderly cat who went missing for TWO YEARS was found just metres away from home - and reunited with her delighted owner, the RSPCA has revealed.

Adventure-loving Alfie, who is 13, was collected in Droylsden, Tameside, by RSPCA animal rescue officer Lee Ferrans at the beginning of November.

Alfie had been 'turning up' at a social club near John Street for a couple of months and regulars called in the charity because they feared she was injured.

When her microchip was scanned, it gave the black cat's address as John Street - which is just around the corner from the club.
