BREAKING Man dies and another seriously injured after firefighters called to Salford street

A man has died following an incident at his workplace in Salford. Paramedics, police, and fire crews raced to Hilton Square in Swinton after the alarm was raised at around 3pm this afternoon (Tuesday, July 25).

Police said they received reports two men had been injured. Sadly, one could not be saved and was declared dead. The other remains in a serious condition.

Emergency crews remain at the scene tonight. The Manchester Evening News understands it is a workplace accident. A police spokesperson said:" At around 3pm today (Tuesday 25 July 2023), officers responded to reports of two people being injured in Hilton Square, Swinton. "Despite the best efforts of emergency services, a man was sadly pronounced dead.

Another man remains in a serious condition. Enquiries are currently ongoing." A spokesperson for Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service said: “At approximately 3.00pm on Tuesday 25th July, firefighters were called to assist police at an incident on Hilton Square in Swinton. “Fire engines from Salford, Ashton and Agecroft stations quickly attended the scene.
