All traffic has been stopped on the M60 this evening due to a 'police incident'. Emergency services have closed the motorway in both directions between junctions 22 (Oldham) and 23 (Ashton-under-Lyne).

The A6140 Lord Sheldon Way, Ashton-under-Lyne over the M60 is also closed. North West Motorway Police and officers from Greater Manchester Police are at the scene.
