Bernard Jackman expects Ireland to come out firing against England

Bernard Jackman believes Ireland will want to make a statement with their performance in this Saturday's Rugby World Cup warm-up against England at the Aviva Stadium.Andy Farrell's side continue their prep for next month's tournament in France when they welcome their Six Nations rivals to Dublin on Saturday, having claimed a 33-17 win against Italy in their previous outing two weeks ago.Ireland come into the meeting on an 11-game winning run, having beaten England 29-16 when the sides last met in March. The Six Nations champions ran in four tries on that occasion, but three of those scores came in the final quarter as they struggled to break down a scrappy England side, who had been down to 14 players since Freddie Steward's red card on the stroke of half time."I think they [Ireland] were very, very frustrated with how they played in the Grand Slam game," Jackman told the RTÉ Rugby podcast."They won, but there was a red card and they just didn't fire at the same level, and that's been something they've talked about a lot."The Irish management team are expected to pick close to a full-strength side, having given a number of fringe players a chance in the previous win against Italy. And Jackman says with next week's friendly against Samoa in Bayonne likely to be a very different style of game, Ireland are more likely to target this week's visit of England as a chance to flex their muscles.
