A video of former France under 20s captain Daniel Brennan has blown people away on TikTok in the last 24 hours, with his accent being void of any French twang.
The clip has resurfaced on the video platform, and has raked in over half a million views in less than one day. The video is the highest trending on rugby TikTok, and was posted by Welsh content creator Andrew Forde, who is renowned for his rugby compilations on YouTube.
The video begins with Brennan being asked his reaction to beating New Zealand and advancing to the World Championship final in 2018.
The interviewer asks: "What are your overwhelming emotions right now?" "I can't say... absolutely bloody delighted!" responds Brennan, in the thickest Irish accent you are likely to hear, the prop's energy makes the interview all that more entertaining. "Playing against one of the best countries in the world, to come out with the win today, the supporters are absolutely amazing, so I'm absolutely delighted." It turns out that Brennan's father was former Ireland and Leinster second-row Trevor Brennan, who moved to France in 2002 to play for Toulouse in the Top 14.
