8 Michael Beale missteps as Rangers fans’ patience is tested by selections, tactics, imbalance and head scratchers

The news John Bennett has decided to retire from Janus Henderson to focus more on Rangers probably probably isn’t ideal timing for Michael Beale.

Veteran fund manager Bennett’s plans came to light just 48 hours before the 59-year-old saw his side go down 1-0 to Celtic at Ibrox Stadium.

He would have been well aware from the mood of the 50,000 fellow fans around him that supporters are starting to turn on his manager.

Bennett might not officially step down from his professional role, after more than four decades, until next year but if he is looking to give Rangers his full attention then Beale’s position will certainly be in his thinking following another derby loss.
