The first Saturday of the 2023 college football season is nearly here.
Each year, we try to quench your thirst for fantasy football sleepers and cheat sheets to get you ready for your drafts. For the past several years, we have given you direct access to Adam Schefter's personal list of early-, mid- and late-round targets. Before being published by ESPN Fantasy, this list was one he would share only with friends and family. Now it has become an annual tradition exclusively for ESPN+ subscribers — because any friend of fantasy is a friend of Adam's.
After doing weekly fantasy football mock drafts this summer at ESPN, now is the time when I really start to focus on my top draft targets. Sure, the numbers play a role here. So does the tape. I want playmakers and upside on my roster. And sometimes I just go with my gut based on offensive schemes, anticipated deployment and exceptional traits, which can create fantasy production.
Our ESPN Fantasy staff got together for another fantasy football mock draft, this time using a 10-team, PPR superflex format that allows fantasy managers to start a second quarterback in a flex position. That wrinkle causes a dramatic shift in the draft strategy.
