Agni Chopra, son of filmmaker Vidhu Vinod Chopra, has taken the Ranji Trophy by storm. On debut, Agni scored 166 for Mizoram in response to Sikkim's large total of 442 for 9.
However, Mizoram were bowled out for 214 and had to follow on. The 25-year-old then smashed 92 following on to help Mizoram post 397 and setting Sikkim a target of 170.
During his knocks, Agni smashed a combined 30 fours and eight sixes. Despite Agni's heroics, Mizoram lost the match by four wickets to Sikkim in Nadiad.
In the ongoing game against Nagaland, Agni scored a blistering 164 in 150 balls to help Mizoram take a solid lead. He smashed 21 boundaries and three sixes to make a strong impression in his first two appearances in India's premiere red-ball tournament.
