More than 35,000 people have received cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) training at the Euro 2024 fan zones, European soccer body UEFA said on Friday.
The training, provided in partnership with the European Resuscitation Council, aims to raise awareness about sudden cardiac arrest and the importance of bystander CPR, UEFA said in a statement.
At Euro 2020, Denmark's Christian Eriksen collapsed during a match against Finland in Copenhagen. Denmark captain Simon Kjaer was praised for immediately attempting CPR on his teammate before medics reached them.
All players, match officials, staff and volunteers in Euro 2024 have received life-saving training, UEFA said.
