Man United's next five transfers 'decided' as Ineos back Erik ten Hag after £60m decision

The feeling around Manchester United has drastically improved ahead of Friday night's Premier League season opener with Fulham following confirmation of Matthijs de Ligt and Noussair Mazraoui's double signing.

De Ligt reunites with Erik ten Hag after breaking through the Ajax academy under the Dutchman in a deal worth £42.6million and Mazraoui replaces Aaron Wan-Bissaka, who joined West Ham, for just £17m.

United have now signed four players in the summer transfer window with Joshua Zirkzee and Leny Yoro arriving in July. With just two weeks remaining of the summer window, it's understood that a new No.6 is the priority for sporting director Dan Ashworth.

Manuel Ugarte has been a target throughout the window with other names, such as Youssouf Fofana and Sander Berge, also said to be on theclub's radar. It's expected that more players would have to depart for another signing to be added to Ten Hag's squad.

Mason Greenwood, Wan-Bissaka, Willy Kambwala and Donny van de Beek have all been sold permanently while Raphael Varane, Antony Martial and Brandon Williams all left at the expiry of their contracts.

After De Ligt and Mazraoui were announced as United players on Tuesday night, there remains plenty of work to be done behind-the-scenes. At least nine first-team players could still depart this summer but interest in them has gradually cooled.
