Glastonbury festival 2024: Dua Lipa, Coldplay and SZA to headline

The first headline acts for Glastonbury 2024 have been revealed. Dua Lipa, Coldplay and SZA have all been confirmed as headliners for the this summer's festival.

It marks the first time in the festival's history that female acts have taken two of the three headline slots. Country star Shania Twain will play the "legend slot" on the Sunday afternoon. The global superstar will also be playing her first BST Hyde Park gig in London this July.

Other acts on this year's line-up include Brit Award-winning rapper Little Simz, who will play before Coldplay, and Afrobeats star Burna Boy, who will make his making his Pyramid Stage debut.

In anticipation of the Glastonbury lineup being revealed, a number of rumours had swirled about who make perform. In recent days, Festival founder Emily Eavis fuelled some of the speculation, after she reportedly confirmed that two of Glastonbury’s headliners would be women, with many suggesting it would be Dua Lipa, who has also just confirmed her third studio album called 'Radical Optimism'.

The singer last played the festival seven years ago, with a Friday afternoon slot on the John Peel stage. At this stage, the songstress had not released her breakout hit, New Rules. Coldplay, meanwhile, haven't played the festival since 2016, but their 2024 show will be their fifth top spot, making them the act to headline Glastonbury the most times.

Elsewhere, boyband Seventeen will be the first K-pop group to grace the main stage, while household names including Idles, Disclosure and The National, will headline the Other Stage - the festival's second-biggest stage.
