Zara employees explain why shoppers should look for circles and triangles on clothes tags

Zara employees have explained to shoppers what circles, squares and triangles on clothes tags actually mean - and debunked a viral video in the process. If you look at a Zara dress, top or pair of trousers, it's likely you'll find one of the symbols on the tag.

A video which claimed to explain why the symbols are there has gone viral. The video, which was shared on TikTok, claims that the symbols are all to do with sizing.

The video claims that 'square means true to size, triangle means it runs small, and circle means it runs big." However, employees in the comments have since said the symbols mean something completely different.

"I actually asked someone who works at zara and she was laughing. They are for the employees that help them placing the items correctly in the shop," said one Tik Tok user.

Zara has now confirmed why the symbols are put onto the tags. Unfortunately, it has nothing to do with sizing, but it is still worth looking for them, because they'll tell you which collection the item
