Yobs trash five vehicles with 'bricks and sharp items' near Sainsbury's

Cars parked up near to a convenience store in Stockport have been trashed by yobs in a wave of vandalism. Greater Manchester Police says five vehicles have been damaged at the Massie Street Car Park, in Cheadle, in the space of three days.

Officers says the vehicles were damaged between 2.30am and 3.30am on Friday, July 29, and Sunday, July 31. Bricks and 'sharp objects' were used to cause the damage in the car park behind Sainsbury's Local, on High Street, GMP says.

Police are looking for two people who are believed to have been 'picked up' from the area at around the same time. Anyone with information is being urged to come forward.

In a statement issued on Facebook, a spokesperson for GMP Cheadle and Bramhall said: "Several vehicles have been damaged in Cheadle over the last few days. During the early hours of July 29 and 31 between 2.30am and 3.30am damage was caused to approximately five vehicles with bricks and sharp objects.

"These vehicles were parked in Massie Street Car Park, behind Sainsburys. CCTV enquiries are ongoing.

"Please contact us if you have any information, or if your CCTV picked up two males close to that area during those times. Please contact us via email at cheadle@gmp.police.uk"
