WWE Raw: Edge debuts new entrance music & ditches iconic theme

Edge has ditched his iconic ‘Metalingus’ entrance theme from Alter Bridge, 17 years after first debuting it.

Now that he’s a heel, having turned on AJ Styles two weeks ago, Edge has debuted some new entrance music on WWE Raw last night.

Edge used the ‘Metalingus’ song, widely recognised as one of the best WWE entrance themes of the 21st century, since 2005.

However, on last night’s show, Edge debuted a darker song ahead of his WrestleMania 38 feud with AJ Styles.

The song is titled ‘The Other Side’, and like his ‘Metalingus’ track, also comes from the band Alter Bridge.

This is all part of Edge’s new character, declaring on Raw over the last few weeks that he “sits on the mountain of omnipotence”.

In his promo last night, Edge explained that he has allowed himself to become weak since his comeback to WWE in 2020, saying that he should never have let Randy Orton injure him and Roman Reigns beat him at WrestleMania last year.

The move is to cement Edge’s heel turn, with many fans absolutely loving his previous theme, the move to one that is liked less, but is still pretty cool, does make sense.

After being brutally attacked by Edge two weeks ago, AJ Styles has missed the last two weeks worth of WWE Raw shows, but will be appearing next week.

The will be the first face-to-face confrontation that Styles and Edge have had since their feud started, with many praising WWE for how its built to this dream match.

The match has been one that fans have wanted to see for the better part of 20 years, and now we are finally getting to see it next month.
