WWE ‘Night of Champions’ event to return to Riyadh in June

RIYADH: Saudi Arabia is set to host another major international wrestling event this summer, with WWE confirming the return of its “Night of Champions” showcase to Riyadh.

The event will take place at Kingdom Arena on June 27, as part of the Kingdom’s expanding entertainment calendar under Riyadh Season.

Saudi Arabia’s General Entertainment Authority, in partnership with WWE, announced the event on Thursday, with GEA Chairman Turki Alalshikh saying the Kingdom was proud to welcome the competition back for a second consecutive year.

“We look forward to delivering another unforgettable night of WWE action for fans in the Kingdom and around the world,” he said.

Last year’s Night of Champions, also held in Riyadh, set a new US viewership record for a WWE event staged in Saudi Arabia, highlighting the growing international appeal of the Kingdom’s entertainment offerings.

This year’s event is expected to feature some of WWE’s biggest stars and will be broadcast live in the US via ESPN’s streaming platform, while international audiences will be able to watch on Netflix.

Tickets for the event will go on sale on April 27.

The announcement comes as Saudi Arabia continues to deepen its relationship with WWE. In 2027, Riyadh is scheduled to host WrestleMania 43, marking the first time the flagship event will be staged outside North America.
