Wrexham AFC fans vote for the club's best player of the non-league era

Wrexham AFC have been in the National League for 14 years now with Reds supporters hoping this will be the season where Phil Parkinson's men finally reclaim their place in the Football League.

During this prolonged spell in the non-league wilderness, the Dragons have had some exceptional (and some not so exceptional) players wear the famous red jersey.

North Wales Live asked supporters who, in their opinion, has been the best player to represent Wales' oldest club during the National League years. Below are the results:

Moult spent the 2014/15 season at the Racecourse, where he remains a fans favourite after scoring 23 times for the Dragons in his 12 month stint.

Moult went on to play for Motherwell in the Scottish Premiership where he had a prolific spell before joining Preston North End in 2017.

Unfortunately injuries have hampered his progress in recent years but at 29 years old he still has time on his side. 21% of respondents named Moult as Wrexham's best player in the non-league era.

Local boy Jordan Davies was named by 19% of respondents as the Dragons' best player of the National League era and it's no surprise given some of the tremendous performances and stunning goals that the 23-year-old from Coedpoeth has become renowned for.

Davies left Wrexham for Brighton and Hove Albion in 2017 but returned to the Racecourse in 2020 after being released by the Premier League side.

Since then Davies has established himself as one of the Dragons' most important players and has been in terrific form once again his term.

Keates had a long association with the club, arriving at the Racecourse as a 32-year-old in 2010 before later having two spells as manager.
