WorldSBK Assen: Lowes anticipating podium challenge
KRT’s Alex Lowes heads to Assen confident he has the pace for the WorldSBK podium after a fastest lap award last time out.
The Kawasaki rider was just adrift of Sunday’s podiums, in fifth and sixth, and sits eight overall in the championship standings after a crash in the opening encounter initially derailed the start of his season.
Previous podium and pole positions at the Dutch TT track in 2014 and ‘18 respectively, prove the Brit’s potential, with three more races ahead this weekend to build on his 2022 fight.
“Assen is a track I really enjoy and the Dutch fans are fantastic,” Lowes confirmed. “I’m hoping to see them out in force this weekend.
“We had a solid Sunday at Round One and I’m looking forward to building on that. I am excited to see if me and my guys can challenge for our first podium of the 2022 season.”
