WorldSBK Argentina: Booth-Amos replaces Currie

Britain’s Tom Booth-Amos will take part in the final three rounds of the 2022 WorldSSP series after a switch of teams for the rookie.

Initially scheduled to compete with Prodina Racing WorldSSP, Booth-Amos will jump to Motozoo Racing by Puccetti for the Argentinean, Indonesian and Australian Round, replacing Ben Currie.

Booth-Amos made his WorldSSP debut this season after stepping up from WorldSSP300, where he was a consistent frontrunner. In two seasons in WorldSSP300, the British rider took 13 podiums in 27 races and won three races, claiming a best Championship result of second place in 2021. Despite missing races through injury in the closing part of the season, Booth-Amos remained in title contention in 2021 on his way to runner-up.

“I am really happy that Tom Booth-Amos will be riding with us in the final three races of the season. Tom is a very strong rider; something he has proven in both Moto3™ and World Supersport 300,” said team boss Fabio Uccelli.

“This year, as a rookie, he has shown he knows what he’s doing, getting into the points twice at the first round of the season at Aragon. Tom is fast and consistent; it will be up to us to give him a bike he can do well on in these three rounds.

“I am convinced we will see some very satisfying results over the next few weeks. Right now, we are focusing on the race in Argentina next weekend.”
