World's Scariest Man vs Iranian Hulk fight is off but event will still go ahead

Martyn Ford and The Iranian Hulk Sajad Gharibi will no longer be fighting on April 30, according to reports.

Ford, aka ‘The World’s Scariest Man’, was due to make his professional boxing debut against the Iranian icon on April 30, after his rival Hafthor Bjornsson‘s March win over close friend Eddie Hall.

The Birmingham-born bodybuilder had vowed to leave no stone unturned in his training camp after clashing with the Icelandic warrior last year – and is on a collision course with the man known as ‘The Mountain’.

Ford was set to make his debut against Gharibi, after accusing his upcoming opponent of using Photoshop to edit his pictures on Instagram.

It had been billed as ‘the heaviest heavyweight fight in history‘ – with both men currently weighing over 20 stone each.

But he revealed the disappointing news of the fight being cancelled, although the reasons for said cancellation are currently unknown at the time of writing.

The Mirror claims a replacement bout will be announced in due course.

Ford, 39, said: “This is a statement I didn’t want to have to realise but unfortunately April 30, my fight is going to be postponed.

“The event is still on, it’s just my fight.

“The event will still go ahead and there are some great people and fights on.

“Unfortunately mine won’t be one of them, for reasons out of my control.

“It doesn’t take a genius to figure them all out. I don’t want to go down the route of talking about it; too much time and energy has been wasted.

“I’m still training hard, there will be a debut. there will be a fight, I’m just not 100 per cent sure who, when or why, but it will happen.”

Ford also expressed his disappointment with the postponement of his debut in the following post on social media.
