World’s best jiu-jitsu athletes descend on UAE capital for final of Abu Dhabi Grand Slam season

ABU DHABI: The final leg of the Abu Dhabi Grand Slam Jiu-Jitsu World Tour starts on Friday at the Mubadala Arena in the UAE capital.

The championship, considered one of the most significant events in the global jiu-jitsu calendar, boasts prizes totaling $1,525,000 for the season leaders.

The ADGS makes its final stop of the season in the UAE capital having visited Rio de Janeiro, Miami, Sydney and London.

The event, which is open to male and female players from various clubs and academies worldwide, is organized by the UAE Jiu-Jitsu Federation, and Abu Dhabi Jiu Jitsu Pro are jointly organizing the event.

“The championship provides an excellent opportunity for UAE players to compete with the world’s top athletes, enabling them to enhance their skills and performance, and prepare for the upcoming regional, continental and international competitions.”

According to Al-Dhaheri, UAE fighters have experienced notable success in recent years, including their achievement of winning the Asian Championship title for three consecutive years.

He said that their participation and experience in the Abu Dhabi Grand Slam tours had contributed to sharpening their skills and honing their performance at major international events.
